Parker Institute

A new digital home for a decade of discovery. 

Parker Institute is a non-profit organization aiming to rewire our understanding and approach to cancer immunotherapy. Their mission is to utilize breakthrough research to develop first-of-their-kind treatments in service of moving groundbreaking immunotherapy treatments from labs to patients faster. Ahead of its 10th anniversary, Parker tasked Pentagram & Decimal with creating a new website to capture their decade of impact and bring it front and center.

Sharing the story of the whole system. 

Springboarding off a newly developed Brand Identity developed by Pentagram, we designed an interactive and informative site built around three pillars: Discoveries, Innovations, and BioVentures. To tell the story of how the Parker Institute operates across the immunotherapy ecosystem, we developed an animated model directly on the homepage. Through this model, we show how research, inventions, and funding for new biotech companies all contribute to the Institute’s impact, with clear calls to action for viewers to donate, access resources, or signup for the Parkers other initiatives. 

Behind the scenes

Moving the Institute from WordPress, we rebuilt the website on a modern foundation that the team fully owns, making strides in reducing the licensing fees for content or infrastructure. Staff single sign-on, native search, and seamless integrations for donations, careers, and analytics are all built in, enabling ease of access to visitors to learn more, join the team, or donate directly to fund the research. In addition, we built a modular component library and easy-to-use page templates that allow staff to publish news, research, and wins all on their own without a developer, so the site keeps up to pace with the Institute's groundbreaking work.
