Documist
Highlighting a production company’s humanist spirit
Documist brings together cinema and journalism to create original documentaries with a humanist spirit. In 2022, their film The Territory depicted the tireless fight of the Indigenous Uru-eu-wau-wau people against the encroaching deforestation of the Brazilian Amazon by farmers and illegal settlers. After the film garnered significant festival and awards attention, including a Peabody Award and a Primetime Emmy, Documist came to us to refresh their brand.
We drew inspiration from travel and cartography to re-envision Documist’s visual identity, implementing vivid colors and a flexible, grid-based layout reflective of the maps frequently employed in their storytelling. We also created a bespoke logotype, meant to convey Documist’s commitment to craft, quality, and attention to detail.
