The Joslyn
From Nebraska to the world
Originally a gift from Sarah Joslyn to the people of Omaha in memory of her husband, George, Joslyn Art Museum has welcomed millions of visitors since its opening on November 29, 1931. Its collection of over 12,000 objects represents 5,000 years of human creativity and the world’s diverse cultures.
Following a two-year construction closure, Joslyn Art Museum reopened in 2024 with the Rhonda & Howard Hawks Pavilion—an expansion designed by Snøhetta, in partnership with Omaha-based Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture—and a new brand identity conceived by Pentagram.
We collaborated with Eddie Opara and his team at Pentagram to create a new website for The Joslyn. The bright and welcoming design conveys a new era for the institution while engaging new and existing audiences. The website also provides online access to selections from the Museum’s impressive collection.
