Utilizing raw, on-the-ground footage of the disaster and heartfelt interviews with survivors and dedicated emergency responders, directors Zackary Canepari and Drea Cooper masterfully reconstruct the harrowing tales of survival in the wake of the catastrophic "Camp Fire." This devastating 2018 wildfire razed the tranquil Californian town of Paradise, claiming 85 lives in its path.

Collaborating closely with designer Lorenzo Fanton, we created the overarching art direction, encompassing the Netflix documentary's visual narrative as well as its promotional materials. Our scope included crafting posters, title design, opening credits, break-up pages, and end credits to encapsulate the film's essence.

For the official documentary poster, we created a compelling series featuring two distinct images: one capturing the tranquil scene before the fire's outbreak, and the other starkly depicting the aftermath, vividly portraying the devastating impact of the blaze.

Depicting danger

At the core of our key visuals lies a striking combination of bold duotone imagery, powerfully conveying the urgency inherent in this emotionally charged narrative. Complementing these visuals is a condensed font (Girott by Radim Peško), drawing inspiration from the lettering styles commonly associated with fire departments.
